Bitcoin back below 50k after weekend rise close to 52k

Bitcoin did what it does best in weekend trading and that is to detract from, or extend upon where it ends up on the Friday before. This last weekend move saw the price rise above 50 and towards 52k, but it was not able to get above that level and that pushed it lower again during the early part of the Asian session. The gains at the weekend were in contravention of the wider market drivers, where higher bond yields and a stronger dollar would suggest it should be heading in the opposite direction. This was very much as advocated here on Friday too. Well, perhaps the dollar not making much further headway on Friday was partly responsible for the weekend rebound. No matter though because it is now lower again this morning, dropping back below 50k as the dollar and firms and bonds fall. Bitcoin is currently trading at 49,680
