Bitcoin extends gains above 12,000

Yesterday Bitcoin continued to make good progress and the lead cryptocurrency once again outperformed all of its peers in that space. The price eventually lifted above 12,000 before slipping back slightly ahead of the main US market close. However, the move has been extended further overnight as the price rises above 12k again, to as high as 12,313 so far. The gains for Bitcoin come as other coins snap their losses from yesterday. As noted the move back into Bitcoin has been really quite a marked departure from its relative underperformance in recent weeks versus many of the other leading coins. The next upside target for Bitcoin is now the current 2020 high at 12,473 which was reached on August 17. Bitcoin is just now trading at 12,280
