Bitcoin has been on a bit of a rollercoaster again this weekend. Late on Friday evening the price eventually broke below any residual support in place at 15,300. It is also possible that it tripped stops through that level too. The price extended slightly to the downside ahead of the US close as it dropped back below 15,300, to as low as 15,200. It later recovered back to around 15,750 ahead of the weekend. However, that recovery did not last on Saturday as the price slumped. It dropped below 15,000, to as low as 14,375 on Saturday evening in a move that may have been linked to reports of futures contracts liquidation the day before. That is unclear and it could also have had something to do with a reversal in cross related pricing with Ether. No matter what the exact reason, the price recovered again on Sunday, as it reclaimed the 15k level and then rose back above 15,300 on Sunday afternoon.
