Bitcoin lifts to session highs

Ethereum might have been struggling with its weekend relapse to below $1500, but Bitcoin seems more resilient overall and that led it to clearly outperform its main rival over that period. Earlier the lead cryptocurrency slipped back towards 38k again, after stalling near 41k on Saturday, but since the European opening the price has been gradually making further progress and that has taken it to session highs above 39,500 a short while ago. The move higher seems again to be following Ether as that has also now made further progress too. As to how long that remains in place is hard to say. Bitcoin is currently trading at 39,450
