Bitcoin takes another shot at reaching 50k but fails once again

Yesterday it was reported here; that Bitcoin had come very close to trading above 50k over the weekend when it rose to as high as 49,694 on Sunday. The subsequent drop back from that high took it to as low as 45,893 right at the start of the Asian session yesterday. Since then it has been gradually rising again and that has led to another surge not long ago today. The price recovered from a dip towards 47k, charging higher to reach 49,913, Hence probably about as close as it could get (given the spread at most venues) without actually trading at 50k.
