The relative Crypto trade that is still going

02 Jun, 2021

If one looks back at the prices of both Bitcoin and Ethereum over the past year, the one standout observation becomes apparent. The synthetic close for Bitcoin exactly one year ago on June 2 2020 was at $9522. The synthetic close on the same day for Ether was $236. Over that period Bitcoin appreciated by as much as approximately 580%, to $64,869. Ether appreciated by roughly as much as 1,760%, to as high as $4379. Even today the difference is stark with Bitcoin currently higher around (assuming price at 37K) 290% compared to a current rise of over 1000% for Ether. The news of the past few weeks has further played into the arms of Ether too, as many operators now seem to favour the long term prospect of that one over Bitcoin. Of course this is not a new trade as the price history of the past year clearly shows. However, that does not mean it is one that yet may not have further to run
