A capped supply of 2.8 quadrillion tokens was created at the ICO, and 1 million of them immediately went up for sale. After the event ended, the project raised $500,000 for further network development. In mid-2017, the token went live on exchanges and began trading around $0.50. Six months later, there was a marked increase in IOTA network popularity, and the token price rose massively by over 1,000,000%. The momentum couldn't be maintained, and the price topped out at around $5 before losing much of that fast rise.
